Tort Reform

In his campaign for Governor of Florida, Rick Scott argued that stricter tort laws result in economic growth and thus greater tax revenue for the state.   This argument has been contested in Florida for years, but the newly elected Governor appears eager to retackle it.  He recently told a group of Florida business leaders that he intends to limit litigation against Florida businesses and in his inaugural address, labeled litigation as part of the “Axis of Unemployment.”  Stay tuned to see how the Governor addresses tort reform and how it could affect you…
